1. Introduction

We will be using a combination of the EPGP system, and random rolls to distribute loot in all 25 man instances. EPGP is the primary system used for items that are considered upgrades. Random rolls are only used for items that do not represent an upgrade for anyone in the raid, only as off spec or "side grade" items. This is discussed below.

10 man instances use random rolls for loot distribution.

2. EPGP

EPGP is a system that creates a PR number for you based on your attendance, and loot previous received. You can find out your PR by dividing the EP by GP in your officer notes (see the in-game Guild Info for the formatting). However, that does not take into account the Base GP we are using, so to get the actual PR values you can download and install the EPGP addon.

Effort Points (EP): Gained for attending raids (in time), Killing bosses, Special Rewards (on time, stepping out, etc). Can be reduced as a penalty (going AFK without notice for extended periods, being PVP flagged at raid time, etc)

Gear Points (GP): Gained when rewarded loot from bosses.

Priority (PR): EP / GP , recalculated after each boss is downed (and at the end of the raid). The Base GP value will affect this.

Decay rate 15%: Both EP and GP decay (reduce), by a certain percentage each week. This helps avoid people hoarding their points, use them or lose them.

Any increase of EP will raise your PR. Any increase in GP will lower your PR. This system helps keep everyone on a fair playing field by rewarding those people that attend raids and are time, while still providing a means for newer players to quickly get a high enough PR to be able to get loot. This is an internal system that is stored on Officer Notes and is viewed and can be monitored by an ingame addon.

EPGP Considers:
- Gear level (iLevel)
- Raider's attendance/participation (by way of EP points)
- Raider's past acquisitions (by way of GP points)
- Fair distribution to raiders considering past acquisitions and participation (by way of PR)
- Mechanism to slowly "erase" old acquisitions to return players to equal footing (by way of weekly Decay)

EPGP Does NOT Consider:
- Upgrade relative to a raider's spec and/or current gear setup

Every raider has a slightly different gear setup, and items for one person may be a bigger upgrade than for another. EPGP does not take this into account. An item could be an upgrade in general (by item level), but ends up very minor for someone given their current gear setup. The very nature of having different stats and talents affecting those stat, ensures that this will happen to everyone at some point.

3. How It Works

When a piece of loot is announced for distribution by the Loot Master, you have three options.

1. If you want the item for an upgrade, type "PRI PR" into raid chat. These calls have the highest priority, and are decided by the highest PR.

2. If you the want the item as an alternative for another gear set (a "side grade" item), do a random roll by typing /roll. Note: the item level MUST be the same (or lower) as your main raiding gear, or you must use EPGP to get the item. If you are rolling for a ring or trinket, it must be the same or lower item level than the gear in BOTH of your ring/trinket slots.

3. If you want the item as an offspec, do a random roll by typing /roll.

NOTE: We do put in temporary rules for specific raids, so make sure to check the Guild Discussion Forums for any updates. Also, we have been experimenting with allowing rolls and steep discounts for 'lower tier' equipment from raid instances that aren't currently the highest level. Raiders are expected to have a legitimate use for items allocated in this way and be courteous of teammates who may have a more pressing gearing need.

4. Priority Levels

  1. Main toon and Main spec (100% GP charge) - EPGP PR
  2. Main toon and Offspec or Side-grade items (10% GP charge) - Random Roll
  3. Alt toon (No GP Charge) - Random Roll

Main toon and Main Spec - EPGP
This is defined by the raiding list in the General Discussion Forums. It is not necessarily the spec that the raider is at the time, but what they have selected as their MAIN spec. They have the first chance on each drop. Unless otherwise stated, classes for which an item is the highest armor type available (i.e. hunters->mail) have preference over other classes for purposes of PR. Items of lower armor types are considered offspec (thus eligible for rolls, but generally not qualifying for sidegrade).

To call main spec, type "PRI PR" into raid chat when the Master Looter announces the loot drops for distribution.

Side-grades - Random Roll
An item may not represent an upgrade, but it could be useful in an alternate gear set. This is decided by random rolls. There is a 10% GP charge. You can only do this if the item is the same gear level as (or lower than) your highest level PVE main spec gear. To determine this, have the EPGP addon installed and running, the item level is shown in a tool tip when mousing over the item. If you are rolling for a ring or trinket, it must be the same or lower item level than the gear in BOTH of your ring/trinket slots. Note that Gladiator's gear (or anything with a significant resilience rating) is not considered PVE for this purpose.

If an item drops that is the same level (or lower) as the item you are currently using, but it still represents an upgrade, you have the option of calling PRI PR for it instead of doing a roll. If you chose to do this, a 100% GP charge will apply.

Offspec - Random Roll
If no one wants an item for their main spec, and someone has indicated that they would like it for their offspec. This is decided by a random roll. There is a 10% GP charge. If a toon is dual speced, his second spec is considered an off spec. To determine this, see the raiding list in the Guild Discussion Forums: Raiding List.

Alts
Alts and Main toons have a linked EPGP pool. Therefore they receive the same EP as everyone else, in addition they are not charge any GP for items received. We do not want to gimp their main toon by decreasing their PR in relation to our character mains for helping the guild. However, they have the lower priority on drops as an Alt, and can only receive an item if no other Main wants them for their main spec, regardless of PR or minimum EP.

Feral Druids
This has been changed. Feral druids no longer have special consideration, they fall under the Dual Talent Spec rules as listed below.

Dual Spec
All raiders must select their main toon, and main talent specification and have it listed in the Raiding List. If your info is not up to date, please contact the Guild Leader to have it updated. If someone switches to a spec other than what is on the list, they are automatically in a lower priority and considered as Offspec.

5. Materials and Patterns
  • Materials that drop in raids and are of rare or epic quality are banked and given to guild members for GP. Guild members should ask the Master Looter after the raid if they are interested in the items that dropped that raid. These materials are often gathered in the guild bank until we have a useful amount and then opened up for bids in EPGP priority. Prices for these are typically chosen so that the crafted item cost will be in line with, or slightly less than, prices for dropped items of that level.

  • Disenchanted Materials that are a result of 10/25 man raids are deposited in the bank. They are primarily used for creating raiding resist gear (and enchanting it) for 25 man raids. Left-over material may be put in Tab 2 for Raiders to withdrawl, at a cost in gold. This cost is described in the Bank Policy.
    • Patterns that drop in raids and are of epic quality are banked and given to guild members. Depending on the loot setting for the raid, they may be called for during the raid or after. Patterns not given out during a raid are banked and available to any Raider. Anyone who wants it can post on the Guild Forums in the thread designated for patterns. If multiple people request it, it will be awarded randomly.

Patterns making BoE gear: No GP cost. Given to a Raider who has met the minimum average attendance requirements for the past 4 weeks. If more than one person in the raid is interested in the pattern (that meets those requirements), there will be a random roll for it. If there is no interest, it gets banked and distributed as described above. Anyone receiving a pattern making BoE gear MUST post in the appropriate Profession forum with the details, and be available to make the item for guild members at no charge (the guild members must provide their own materials).

Patterns making BoP gear: Half GP Cost of the item it creates. Awarded to an interested raid member (of the appropriate profession, by order of highest PR) for half the GP of the crafted item at the end of the raid. If there is no interest, it gets banked and distributed as described above.

    6. Effort Point Values

Raiders who attend get an initial 200 EP points, plus an additional 25 EP every 25 minutes they are in the raid. A raider who attends a full 3 hour raid will get 500 EP.

There is a decay rate of 15%.

Full EP is given for Raiders who are on standby, assuming that they are available for the entire length of the raid (if you are unsure contact an Officer for clarification). The following conditions must be met:
    - Players must indicate to and get confirmation from the loot master that they plan to be available on standby status.
    - Players must stay online/available until the end of the scheduled raid.
    - Players must be available to join the raid as a substitute without delay when requested, i.e. - not "after this boss attempt".
    - During standby, players may play on an alt, a non-guilded alt, or even be logged out as long as we know how to contact you for a quick substitution.
    - If you are substituted out mid-raid, you will be rewarded full standby EP from that point forward if you notify the loot master that you wish to be placed on standby status. If you elect not to be on standby, you will be given EP only for the portion of the raid you participated in.
    - If you are late to attend a raid and the raid is full, you can still opt to be placed on standby. Please confirm your standby status with the loot master and you will qualify for partial EP identical to what the raid earns from the point after you log in.
    - If we notice that you are not following these rules during this time, you are subject to forefiture of all earned standby EP for the raid.
    - It's the individual players' responsibility to verify they received standby EP at the end of the raid.
